I have a Masters in Fine Art, Illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. My paintings have been exhibited and sold at a variety of San Francisco Bay Area salons and events. My work is also exhibited and sold through the privately owned Pea Island Art Gallery in Salvo, North Carolina. My artwork has been recognized via juried online international art competitions, and is available through artsy.net. I am a member of American Women Artists, the California Art Club, the Society of West-Coast Artists, and the Society of Children’s Book Illustrators.
I have a genuine thirst to create, to find the narrative and tell the story, both visually and in words. I work in a variety of media, with a primary focus on oil painting with richness and depth of color and detail. My portfolio ranges from portraits and figurative work, to dynamic, emotionally expressive story illustration, to representations of the abundant color and natural composition spontaneously discovered during time outside.
Living things have an inherent beauty, exactly as created, and I believe it is up to us to find it. Sometimes all it takes is a simple shift in perspective. The best possible win for me as a creative is to demonstrate the idiosyncratic beauty of the character I am creating or the subject I am painting… despite - or perhaps because of - flaws.
