From The Garden and Beyond
Handpainted Photographs by Renee Ann Fitts, June 26 - July 28

Press Release

"Through a Garden of Bright Images" features handpainted images from the garden and beyond. These images all begin with traditional black and white photographs that are painted with oils to a sometimes dreamlike, sometimes whimsical conclusion.

The show will be on display at The Main Gallery from June 26 to July 28, 2002, and there will be a reception for the artist at the gallery on Saturday, June 29, 2002, from 4-7 p.m. A Gallery Talk and Preview will be presented by the artist on Wednesday, June 26, at 7 PM. The Main
Gallery is located at 1018 Main Street in Redwood City, across the street from City Hall. Gallery hours are Wed.-Fri. from 11-4 p.m. and weekends from 10-3 p.m.

The title of the show is derived from a quotation from an obscure author, Ernest Bramah, whose fictional detective offered Confucius-like observations on life.

The gallery is located at 1018 Main Street on the corner of Middlefield and Main Street in Redwood City. It occupies a yellow Victorian cottage built in 1857 in a beautiful garden setting next to the public library and across from the new Redwood City Plaza and City Hall. Parking is available behind the gallery and in the adjacent public parking lot. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. 650-701-1018. www.themaingallery.org.
